Studies have shown that the baby is aware of what is happening outside the womb.

Any trauma through the pregnancy or during the birthing process, would cause anxiety, which could cause energy blocks, the person could then carry this characteristic with them into later life.

The Metamorphic Technique is a gentle and soothing massage of the feet, hands and head which can help to release the energy blocks created during the gestation period or during the birth.

After sessions of the metamorphic massage, when the blockages and anxieties have been removed, people realise they have great potential.

The training has been available for many years but the subject is still not widely known.

Robert St. John (1912 - 1996) was the founder of the method, which he originally called the Pre-Natal Therapy.

We would like to acknowledge that Gaston St Pier, who studied with Robert St. John, renamed the Pre-Natal Therapy, The Metamorphic Technique, the name by which it is referred to today.

Robert St. John, while practising reflexology realised that while working on certain parts of the foot a client would speak about their mother or father often releasing memories of their birth.

He concluded that reflexology works on a physical map of the body, but that there was also a psychological map, of the time we spent in the womb and our experience before and during our birthing.

Our birth is one of the most traumatic things that ever happens to us, we carry the memory in our subconscious mind throughout life.

The first decision we ever make in life is the decision to be born.
If this decision is taken from us, i.e. Induced birth, this can sometimes lead to indecisiveness in life.

Caesarean births are necessary for the safety of the mother and baby, but the baby was not able to make its first decision i.e. to be born, therefore can often be indecisive in life.

A study of twins has shown that one twin is often more dominate than the other, this twin was the one who made the decision to be born; the other child had no choice but to follow.Therefore they will rely on the more dominant twin to make decisions for both of them.

If a mother-to-be experiences any trauma, anxiety or is unhappy the baby will pick up the emotions’ she is feeling. If the baby is unwanted he will be aware of this.

If there is an unhappy or argumentative home environment the baby will also experience this, and become anxious. The baby will then carry the anxiety into the world with it and this could have an affect on their behaviour throughout their lives.

The Metamorphic Society at the request of its Students has produced a DVD showing the entire sequence of the massage.

The DVD can be purchased from them for a fee of £17.00

The Metamorphic Technique Home Study.

It is not always convenient for students to attend the “in house” training course, as the Metamorphic Technique is so simple to learn and administer, and the course manual is so well structured, it is possible for students to train to the same professional standards via the “home study” option.

The course is identical to our in house training, the Metamorphic Society DVD of the Metamorphic Technique is included with the training material; this video is a step by step demonstration of the entire massage technique used. The society’s comprehensive training manual contains all the theory taught in house.

You will be assigned a tutor that you can email throughout your home study training. The tutor will help you and give you extra tuition if necessary.

This help will be available until your have completed your training and received your certification.

The Metamorphic Technique Home Study course fee £55.00.

When Students have completed the metamorphic technique course they will have the opportunity become members of The Metamorphic Society.

There is no obligation to join the society and students will still receive their certification, plus have the opportunity to purchase the DVD.

The membership advantages also apply to the home study students.

What are the advantages of joining the society?

Members will receive a free copy of the metamorphic massage DVD.

Members are entitled to put the initials MTMS after their name (Member of The Metamorphic Society).

The Member’s certificate states that they are a member of the society which gives them professional status.

Members will receive the official Metamorphic Society tri fold brochure on disc with the association logo on.

This brochure informs potential clients that you have trained with the society; it gives an explanation of the massage.

You simply have to add your own personal details to the brochure and you have an excellent advert for your business.

Members will receive a free society wall chart on disc which shows the stages of the gestation period.

Members have found that displaying the chart in their therapy room generates interest in the technique.

Members are permitted to use the society logo in their advertising material.

To become a life long member of the society there is a one off administration fee of £25.

All Students have a free listing in the Therapist Directory which potential client can refer to when looking for a therapist in their area.

This course can be taken in the UK.
